Accessibility Information

All areas of Godstone Farm are accessible to all, including wheelchair users, however we are based in the Surrey Hills, so there are slopes. As a farm environment paths are generally firm but not tarmac, and some areas can be muddy, especially after bad weather.

Getting to Us

We have plenty of car parking space, including a dedicated accessible parking area. The car park is gravel rather than tarmac and is situated on a slope, however the accessible spaces are in the flattest, lower end of the car park closest to the entrance.

By Car

We can be found just off junction 6 on the M25. Follow the signposts to Godstone and from there you can pick up brown tourist board signs to Godstone Farm.
You can also get to us using the A25 and A22.

By Bus

There are several buses that stop in Godstone Village which is just a short walk from the farm. Please see the Find Us page for further information.

By Train

The nearest station to the farm is Caterham, Surrey which can be reached from London Victoria, London Bridge, Clapham Junction, Norwood Junction and East Croydon. Please note the station is some distance from the farm so you would need to get a bus or taxi from the station.

The car park is on a gentle slope to the main entrance, which is situated down a short gravel path. If you have pre-booked your tickets you will need to show the barcode from your confirmation email – this can be done directly from a smartphone or can be printed if needed. If you have not pre-booked you can pay on the day at the gate, however it is always cheaper to book online, even on the day.

Once you have paid or shown your confirmation, you will be given a paper welcome leaflet with timings and a map, and the team member on the gate will be able to answer any additional questions you have. A personal assistant will be admitted free of charge on presentation of an accepted form of identification:

  • A Personal Independence Payment letter, Disability Living Allowance letter or Attendance Allowance letter dated within the last 12 months.
  • A current and valid blue badge or compass card.
  • A letter from a GP or consultant confirming the need for a carer or personal assistant.

The carer must be over 16 years of age and capable of assisting the person with the disability.

Godstone Farm is located on a hill, with the entrance at the top of the hill, so there are some slopes to get to and from some areas of the farm. Pathways are a mixture of concrete and gravel, and some areas near the lower part of the farm can get muddy during and following wet weather.

All buildings are single storey except the Play Barn, which has a lift to enable access to both floors for anyone with walking difficulties.

The Outdoor Adventure Play area is located at the top of the farm, up from the main entrance. It has a tarmac path running up past it, but it is located on a slope. The areas around the play equipment are grass, with both upwards and downwards slopes.

The Play Barn is a large open-plan building on two levels. The ground floor contains the main play area, while the mezzanine level currently contains the role play and sensory area. This level is fully accessible with a lift to the ground floor.

The ground floor consists of the main play frame, with four levels of fun, plus baby and toddler play areas, Wiglet’s Cafe and a large seating area. There is plenty of space to sit and tables if you want to stop for something to eat or drink. Accessible toilets, including a Changing Places accredited toilet, are located on this floor.

There are a number of toilet facilities around the site providing easy access in all areas. All toilet areas are family toilets composed of cubicles, and include accessible toilet facilities. Within the Play Barn situated near the top of the farm close to the entrance we have a Changing Places accredited toilet.

There are two main eating places at the farm – Wiglet’s Cafe in the Play Barn and the Courtyard Kitchen in the lower part of the farm.

Wiglet’s Cafe

Wiglet’s Cafe is open every day, providing a selection of sandwiches and paninis, together with hot food and kids’ meals. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options are available, and staff will be able to advise on any other allergen-related queries. Wiglet’s Cafe also serves a variety of hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes. Situated on the ground floor of the Play Barn, it is fully accessible and close to toilet facilities.

Courtyard Kitchen

The Courtyard Kitchen is situated in the lower part of the farm. During termtime weekdays it is open for hot and cold drinks, crisps, cakes and ice creams. During weekends and school holidays it provides sit down dining with a varied menu of hot dishes. The restaurant is on one level, so there are no stairs, and has an accessible toilet which can be accessed using a radar key.

The Gift Shop is situated at the entrance/exit to the farm, on level ground. It is accessed through automatic double doors and exit is via another set of double doors which are controlled by a large push button which is situated at low level. The shop is all on one level and well-spaced out, leaving plenty of room around the fixtures. Many of the items are at low level and there is always a member of staff on hand to assist if needed.

Exit is generally via the Gift Shop, from which there is a level, solid gravel path back to the car park. If you would prefer not to exit through the Gift Shop, then please speak to a member of staff who will be able to provide an exit route avoiding it.

Assistance dogs are welcome.

All of our team have received accessibility awareness training.

We have trained first aiders on site at all times when we are open.
