Continuing our 2025 series of blog posts, exploring our amazing animals and fantastic farm features! Expect a new blog post every fortnight, with the focus on a different letter of the alphabet.
This week we’re diving into the letter D and that means donkeys, ducks and discovery week! If you love adorable animals, hands on fun and a bit of learning along the way, then read on!
DONKEYS
With their fluffy coats, twitching ears and gentle nature, our donkeys are firm favourites of many at Godstone Farm. We have four donkeys currently living at Godstone Farm, Doris, Ben, Ringo and Timmy and they’ll often greet our visitors with a friendly bray. Did you know that donkeys form strong friendships and you’ll usually find them hanging out in pairs – see if you can spot this with our donkeys while you’re here! As well as being docile and gentle, donkeys are also very intelligent, they can learn and problem solve and can even remember people’s faces if they spend a lot of time with them! So if you’re a regular at Godstone Farm, as well as recognising our donkeys – our donkeys might even recognise you!
DUCKS
No trip to Godstone Farm is complete without a little meander around Pond Walk and a visit to see our ducks! Whether they’re paddling in the water or waddling along the pathway, they’re endlessly entertaining. Keep at eye (and ear) out for their cheerful quacking, especially at feeding time when they get particularly chatty!

DISCOVERY WEEK
We hold an event during every school holiday at Godstone Farm and February is host to Discovery Week. Last month our visitors embraced the opportunity to meet adorable lambs, curious ferrets and our majestic barn owl Echo during engaging talks. They got hands-on with nature and crafted their own wind chime bird feeder and also uncovered fascinating farming traditions at the discovery cart. It’s such a great opportunity to learn more about the wonders of nature during a visit to Godstone Farm.
DAILY GIVEAWAY
During the month of April, we’re giving away a family ticket every single day! We’re on a mission to ‘Put Mum in the Picture!’ Have you noticed that mothers are often the ones missing from cherished family photos because they’re the ones taking the photos? We want you to share your family snaps, taken during a trip to Godstone Farm, on your social media using our hashtags #godstonefarm #godstonefarmmums and we’ll choose one photo each day with the family winning a free return visit!
