Did you know we have a team at Godstone Farm who look after all the plants and vegetables that are grown here?
The team work really hard to make the farm look great, and have inspired staff and guests with garden ideas or provided advice on growing your own vegetables at home!
As summer has drawn to a close, the team have started to prepare for the colder months. As we clear away our summer bedding, we use this time to prepare for the Spring – a lot of planting has begun! So, if your visiting us this Autumn, what might you see the team doing?
- Planting daffodils and tulips, ready for the Spring!
- Planting our winter bedding – these include pansies and sweet Williams.
- Empty the compost onto the vegetable plot!
- Pruning shrubs, this is good for the health of the plant.
During your visit to Godstone Farm this autumn, not only might you see our gardening team completing some of the above but you also get to meet some of our amazing animals! They have been known to help the gardening team too…
We also have some great activities for our guests including an opportunity to participate in pig feeding and duck feeding.
During the week, we are also running a series of Treks and Trails interactive storytelling and activities designed for young children. More information can be found here and here.
Finally, we are also preparing the farm for our Halloween celebrations this October Half Term (24th October to 1st November 2020). So don’t miss out, book your ticket now!
