It’s July already!! That seems to have crept upon us pretty quickly. Great news for everyone at school (kids and teachers!) you’ve only got 3 more weeks until the summer holidays – exciting times and a well earned rest!
So what’s happening at Godstone Farm in July?
Look out for our adorable baby animals along the farm trail, you can see Penelope’s super cute piglets with Penelope and her sister Polly in their enclosure. Also look out for Dotty’s baby rabbits in Animal Holding and for our goat kids in Main Barn, we’ve also got ducklings on the pond and chicks in Animal Holding!
Summer Holidays
We’re busy getting ready for our summer holiday event, Storybook Summer! We’ve chosen a few favourite tales and you’ll be able to join in activities relating to those stories! For example get creative in the Mad Hatter’s Craft Party in our Alice in Wonderland themed area or engage in pig feeding and explore building houses of straw, sticks and bricks for the Three Little Pigs! Our popular Transformation Station will be back too so you can enjoy being transformed into a fairy, pirate or mermaid and then grab a pic in one of our themed photo op set ups.
Godstone Farm will be open until 5.45pm from Saturday 23rd July too so you’ll get a chance for an extra hour of fun.
Animal Experiences
Our Animal Experiences are proving very popular and the feedback has been fantastic. We currently offer a bee experience, meerkat experience, Shetland pony experience, pig experience, goat experience and our wonderful farmer experience. So if you would like to get up close to some of our lovely animals, participate in their care and learn more about them, why not take a look here https://godstonefarm.co.uk/animal-experiences/
Home Educator Day
For those of you who are Home Educators we have planned our end of term round up for 19th July, this will include an owl talk, the opportunity to take part in planting, meeting some of our lovely animals and also pond dipping. Book your place via the Godstone Farm website.
Camping
We’re finalising details for our camping event in August, we’ve got lots of exciting activities planned including tractor rides, campfire sing-alongs, wide games, quizzes, pond dipping, character meet and greets, lawn games, lantern making, bingo, farm tour, sheep feeding and heaps more! Our campers will get access to the farm for three days to enjoy the summer holiday fun plus breakfasts and dinners are included in the cost. It’s fantastic family funtime!
Summer Sizzler
There’s still time to take advantage of our Summer Sizzler, having this pass gives you unlimited access to the farm until 31st August and also means you can turn up at any time during opening hours without pre-booking.
Other July news
Our construction work continues which is really exciting! You can look at the progress being made on our new Playbarn, Gift Shop and Animal Barn. Access to the adventure playground remains, please follow the signs or ask a member of staff if you are unsure which direction to head in.
Look out for our beautiful water lilies on the little pond close to Kate’s Garden (our wilding play area with sandpits.) Water lillies are one of the flowers for July and are a symbol of purity, said to represent hope, peace and celebrations, among other things. So we wish you all a fantastic July and a great start to the summer holidays!
