Here’s more information to help you plan your visit!
Our latest additions at Godstone Farm
One of our sandy coloured Tamworth pigs, Penelope, welcomed a litter of adorable piglets to the world on Friday! Born on 3rd February, they are a beautiful cross between Abraham, our Gloucester Old Spot and Penelope, one of our Tamworth sisters.
Fun Farm Facts about pigs
- Piglets are able to move around and walk very shortly after birth.
- A male pig is called a boar and a female pig is called a sow, baby pigs are called piglets.
- A sow will usually have a litter of between 7 and 12 piglets.
- It’s easy to remember how long a sow is pregnant for – it’s said to be 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days – a great fact to impress your friends with!
- Pigs are very intelligent animals and although people think they are dirty, they are actually really clean. They may just look dirty if they have been rolling in the mud, which you probably would too!
Our Pebble Garden
Everyone loves a painted pebble so we’re really excited to be creating a pebble garden for our visitors to enjoy as they explore the farm! If you have painted pebbles at home that you’d like to add to our pebble garden, please bring them along during half term week, we can’t wait to see your creations!
Flower and Herb Scent Trail
During our Spring Into Action half term event, which starts on 11th February, discover fun facts about some scented herbs. For example, did you know that scientists have found that sniffing rosemary can increase your memory by 75% and also that Queen Victoria’s favourite drink was lavender-infused tea!!
