We hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter break!
We’ve got an a-MAY-zing line up for the coming month, we’re going quackers and you won’t want to miss a King!
MAY AT A GLANCE
1st May – The East Surrey Morris Men – Morris dancing
6th, 7th and 8th May – King’s Coronation Weekend
13th and 14th May – Surrey Day Celebrations
28th May to 4th June – Nature Week
1st May -Bank Holiday Monday
Join us on May Day to see the East Surrey Morris Men demonstrating this traditional English dance which has been practised for hundreds of years. Morris Dancing is part of our unique culture – so be proud of it and enjoy the show. The East Surrey Morris Men perform dances from the Cotswolds traditions in sets of six or eight men and occasionally a jig will be danced by one of two men as part of the performance.
6th, 7th and 8th May – The King’s Coronation Weekend
Over the weekend of Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th and the Bank Holiday Monday 8th May, join us in celebrating the King’s Coronation.
There’ll be character meet and greets running over the long weekend, as well as Coronation themed crafts in our Craft Barn. You can book a delicious afternoon tea to enjoy as part of the Big Lunch, or enjoy lunch in our restaurant or bring your own picnic to feel a part of the celebratory atmosphere. Monday is designated as the Big Help Out, we’re hoping to have some volunteer organisations at the farm to share more about the work they do. Additionally there will be a space for the kids to share what they could do to make a difference! There will also be Royal themed face painting available at specific times during the day, we just ask for a small charity donation for this.
Why not come dressed as your favourite King or Queen – either factual or fictional if you prefer.
13th and 14th May – Surrey Day
We’re going quackers over the weekend of Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May 2023! Visit Godstone Farm and help us to celebrate Surrey Day. Usually held on the first weekend in May, but changed this year due to the King’s Coronation, Surrey Day is a collaboration between Visit Surrey and BBC Radio Surrey, Surrey Lieutenance and Local Food Surrey. Surrey Day for 2023 allows us to celebrate the wonderful waterways of our lovely county and in keeping with theme we’ll have additional activities for you all to enjoy, enjoying quacky races and duck feeding, imaginative crafts, plus the opportunity to join in with pond dipping to find out what’s living in our ponds at Godstone Farm. We’re also delighted that Rock Choir will be visiting us on Saturday 13th May and singing at the farm!
27th May to 4th June – Half Term Nature Week
This May half term is all about getting back in touch with nature! Activities include a woodland spirit trail, rainbow colour walk and nature origami. You can also join in with creating a mud sculpture and a barefoot challenge to help you feel even closer to nature! There will be character meet and greets and some fabulous nature inspired crafts too!
Of course on top of all this, you’ve still got the fun of the farm with our farm trail, interactive animal activities, indoor Playbarn, Dinosaur Roar discovery trail and oodles of outdoor play!
